CHAKKULATHUKAVU SRI BHAGAVATHV TEMPLE RENOVATION

Transcending the frontiers of Time and Space, Chakkulathukavu Temple now remains a surprising anchor of peace, tranquility and blessing for lakhs and lakhs of devotees. The Temple has become a focal spark of all the divinity with which Devi incarnates in the original 'Pushkara Island'. Thousands, nay lakhs receive the incessant blessings of the ' Maha Devi' day by day, night by night. A hunter wandering through the one-time thick forest of the yesterdays of this Temple once hit a serpent with an axe. The serpent sitting upon the sand cover just disappeared and to the surprise of all, the great saint Narada appeared t here. He took out the holy idol of the Goddess and the hunter and his family fell down upon the lotus feet of the Devi. The tribal hunter and family was the Lord Siva and Parvathy. This ancient history, unfolded in the antique pages of the yesterdays, as old as three thousand years, branches off and serves as a seat of Divinity showering 'Shant i', prosperity and blessings to countless devotees.

A recent 'Asht a Mangalya Prasna' held by scholars in the Temple revealed that a formal reconstruction in some areas will spark off the divinit ies of the Goddess to higher levels. The renovation of the subsidiary Temples, the 'Gaja Mandapa', the glorifying tower and the 'Navaratri Mandapa ' are prophesied to accelerate a perennial flow of unbelievable blessings from the Great Mother. These blessings are sure to shield the devotees from all sorrows and to lead them towards a glorifying life. Accordingly the Devaswom is initiating an extensive programme of reconstruction. Needless to specify, this ambitious design is going to bloom only with the uncompromising co-operation of all pious people, from the different strata of society.
